Ulyanovsk Region to launch production of buses on Isuzu chassis

NIZHNY NOVGOROD, Jul 10 (PRIME) -- The Ulyanovsk Region, Isuzu Rus and local company Simaz have signed a memorandum of intent to set up production of small buses on the basis of ISUZU ELF 9.5 chassis in the city of Ulyanovsk, the government said in a statement on Monday.

Simaz will assemble small busses on the basis of Isuzu chassis and with own component parts. The company plans to start selling busses in late 2017–early 2018, and will produce up to 500 buses in the first 12 months of sales, the statement read.

Isuzu Rus is an official producer and distributor of 3.5–33 tonne cars of Japan’s Isuzu in Russia. Its dealership network comprises more than 50 centers in the country.
